In seinem fünften Abenteuer bekommt es der schrullige Möchtegern-Magier mit Außerirdischen zu tun, welche die Erde bedrohen. Im Point & Click Adventure erleben Spieler eine packende, wendungsreiche Geschichte, lösen knifflige Rätsel und erfreuen sich an Simons typisch bissigem Humor. Nicht nur fantastische Vehikel wie dampfgetriebene Raumschiffe durchkreuzen das futuristische Setting. Auch die seltsamsten Wesen bemächtigen sich Simons skurriler Märchenwelt: Ob trottelige Agentenmaulwürfe, Riesentintenfische oder Transvestiten-Piraten – Simon bleibt nichts erspart. So hat Simon an diversen Stellen im Spiel die Möglichkeit, sich zwischen fiesem, brutalem oder freundlichem Vorgehen zu entscheiden, und erhält am Spielende dafür eine Auswertung als „Psychogramm“. In Simon 5 sucht der Zauberlehrling nicht nur die gewohnte Zauberwelt heim, sondern treibt sein Unwesen auch in den finstersten Ecken der Karibik und im Weltall. Insgesamt sorgen fünf verschiedene Spielszenarien und 24 unterschiedliche Locations für abwechslungsreiches Gameplay. Weil Wiedersehen bekanntlich Freude macht, finden sich unter den über 20 Charakteren auch gute alte Bekannte wie Goldlöckchen, der Sumpfling oder Rotkäppchen und der Wolf.
